This is a practical, beginner-friendly Michigan CPL course built around safe firearm handling, legal understanding, live-fire fundamentals, and the responsibility that comes with carrying a handgun. We use the day to establish safe gun handling, responsible carry habits, a working understanding of Michigan concealed-carry and use-of-force considerations, and a baseline of live-fire skill that students can continue developing after the class ends.
STOP THE BLEED® is included because responsible preparedness is not only about knowing how to protect a life. It is also about knowing how to save one.

New to Firearms?
You are welcome here.
You do not need to be an experienced shooter—or even own a handgun yet—to take this course. Many CPL students are new firearm owners or are still deciding which handgun is right for them.
Rental firearms can be arranged in advance for an additional fee when available. If you are still choosing your first handgun, come ready to learn and ask questions rather than feeling like you need to buy something before class.

What to Bring
Come ready for classroom, medical, and range work.
- Government-issued photo identification
- Handgun
- Ammunition (minimum of 50 rounds, 100 rounds ideally)
- Extra magazines if you are bringing your own firearm
- Range bag
- Long pants, weather-appropriate clothing, and sturdy closed-toe footwear
- Ball cap or brimmed hat
- Rain gear, sunscreen, and bug spray as conditions require
- Water, lunch/snacks, and anything you normally need for a full training day
- Pen and notebook
Shooting glasses and in-ear hearing protection are provided and are yours to keep. Targets and course materials are also included.
