SUMMARY:Defensive Decision Making
DESCRIPTION:Defensive Decision Making\nThe hardest part of a defensive enco
unter may not be shooting. It may be deciding what to do.\nDefensive Decisi
on Making is an approximately 4.5- to 6-hour classroom and force-on-force t
raining course designed to develop better judgment\, communication\, threat
  recognition\, and decision-making under pressure.\nStudents begin in the c
lassroom by working through use-of-force considerations\, situational aware
 ness\, de-escalation\, positioning\, communication\, and post-incident resp
onse. The course then moves into controlled scenario-based training where s
tudents must apply those concepts against live role players in real time.\n
This is not a shooting competition\, and the goal is not to “win” every
scenario. Students will face situations where the appropriate response may
  be to communicate\, create distance\, disengage\, call for help\, draw a f
irearm\, or use force. The purpose is to learn how to recognize those diffe
rences before facing them in the real world.\nWhat You’ll Train\n\n\nUse-
 of-force and defensive decision-making concepts\n\n\nThreat recognition and
  pre-contact indicators\n\n\nVerbal communication and de-escalation\n\n\nDi
 stance\, positioning\, and movement\n\n\nShoot / no-shoot decision making\n
\n\nDecision making with incomplete information\n\n\nSolo and selected part
 ner scenarios\n\n\nReassessment after a confrontation\n\n\nCalling 911 and
communicating critical information\n\n\nInteraction with responding law enf
orcement\n\n\nStructured instructor debriefs after scenarios\n\n\nEvery stu
dent will participate in a minimum of three force-on-force scenarios.\nScen
 ario-Based Force-on-Force Training\nStudents use dedicated airsoft training
pistols and protective equipment during scenarios. These training tools al
low participants to experience movement\, communication\, opposition\, cons
equences\, and real-time decision making without the cost or logistical bur
den of traditional marking-cartridge systems.\nThere is no live-fire portio
n of this course.\nScenarios are controlled by instructors and role players
and may change based on student decisions. Not every scenario is designed
to end with force—and that is intentional.\nSome of the most important le
ssons come from recognizing when not to draw the gun.\nCourse Details\nLeng

otective equipment\, airsoft ammunition\, and scenario equipment required f
or the course.\nThink First. Communicate Clearly. Act When Necessary.\nReal
defensive encounters rarely unfold exactly the way we expect them to.\nThi
s class gives you an opportunity to make difficult decisions\, experience t
he consequences\, receive professional feedback\, and learn from those deci
sions in a controlled training environment.\nThe goal is not to teach you t
o shoot faster. It is to help you make better decisions when the answer is
 not obvious.
